What is Absence Percentage?
The absence percentage, or absenteeism rate, is a measure used by businesses to track the frequency of employees missing work. It helps in understanding workforce productivity and health.
How to Calculate Absence Percentage
The formula for calculating the absenteeism rate is:
Absence Rate = (Total Days Absent / (Total Employees × Total Workdays)) × 100
Example Calculation
Suppose you have 100 employees. In a given month of 20 working days, the total number of days employees were absent (sick days, unexcused, etc.) was 5 days.
- Total feasible workdays = 100 employees × 20 days = 2000 days
- Absence Rate = (5 / 2000) × 100 = 0.25%
