Inside vs. Outside Mount
Choosing the right mount is critical for the look and function of your blinds.
- Inside Mount: Provides a clean, built-in look. Measures the narrowest width to ensure it fits, and often subtracts a small deduction (e.g., 1/4 inch) for clearance.
- Outside Mount: Makes windows look larger and hides imperfect frames. Measures the widest part and adds overlap (usually 3 inches to width) for privacy and light control.
Pro Tip for Measuring
Always use a steel tape measure for accuracy. Cloth tapes can stretch and cause errors. Measure to the nearest 1/8th of an inch.
